Our Tour of the Fire Station

Today we went on a tour of a fire station a few towns over.   I may or may not have gotten pulled over on the way there and lucked out by not getting a ticket.  It must have been my lucky day.  In case you are wondering, I was going too fast, but in my defense its nearly impossible to do 30 downhill.  Anyway back to the real reason for the post.  A friend of ours signed a group of us up for a tour.  There were supposed to be a bunch of kids there but only 3 others showed up, which meant even more fun for us!!  The boys were allowed to climb in and on every vehicle, push every button, and stand and drive them all.  Brady honked the horn multiple times, scaring himself each time and saying "what was that" every time.  Brady was super outgoing too, which is unlike him that late in the day without a nap and with a total stranger.  By the end of the time Brady had developed a major man-crush on the firefighter in charge of our tour, even calling him my name "Cott" or actually Scott.  Not only did they get to climb in all the vehicles, they got to squirt water out of a forest fire backpack and then jump in the puddles they made.  If Jim were with us he would have had to leave because Brady was covered in sand and water when he was done.  I had to take his pants, shoes, and socks off when we were done.  He wore the real helmet and a real fire hose.  The reason I am telling you all the fun things is because I wasn't able to get pictures of most of the stuff because I was too busy keeping him from breaking things or jumping out of trucks.  Here are the few pictures I did manage to get.

This fire truck was his favorite.  It had the lights on and Brady learned how to turn them on and off.  There was also a super bright flashlight in the console that he played with most of the time.

This was the firetruck they use to fight forest fires.  There was a gear shifter that the boys had way too much fun playing with and made me very nervous.

Driving the ambulance and beeping the horn like crazy.  Max was talking on the walkie talkie thing like a phone, it was so funny.

Bubbles and Golf

Here are some more pictures from yesterday.  The weather has been awesome lately and we enjoyed a few hours outside.  Next week's weather looks even better..... I CAN'T WAIT!!!

God, I love this kid.

I love him even when he is trying to escape my kisses.

I am not sure at all where he found this golf ball, but he had a hell of a good time playing with it.  He may have hit Jim's car a few times, don't tell him though.  Luckily Mat came over to distract Brady with a kiddy sized golf club.

GO NAVY!!

How cute is this kid "golfing"?

10 for Tuesday

Here is a random list for this week.  This kid seriously cracks my shit up.

1.  He watches Dora, which isn't new news.  They teach the kids spanish words throughout the episode.  He has started saying "ocho" randomly throughout the day and it is beyond funny.

2.  I went to visit a friend and her new baby the other day.  Brady just kept repeating "baby, ahhhhhh, baby, ahhhhhhhhh".  He loved visiting baby Callan and wasn't at all jealous.  He has such a sweet voice when he wants to.

3.  But I am not sure who he loved more, the baby or the cat.  He was cuddling with the cat, similar to how he snuggles with Zoe saying "cat, ahhhhh, cat, ahhhhhhh" over and over again. But I will not be getting him a cat no matter how cute he is.

4.  Jim finds it hysterical how dedicated Brady is to eating his veggie container each night at dinner.  Yes, Brady still eats baby food veggies.  Mostly because he likes it and I am lazy and I don't make or eat veggies.  I am sure at some point I will start making real veggies but for now this works.  Anyway, he feeds himself the whole container and when he gets to the end he holds it in different directions and scrapes the sides and corners so as to not leave behind one drop behind.  The container is practically licked clean.

5.  I like giving Brady choices.  Not because I think its necessary for his development or anything, really just for shits and giggles.  Recently at Target we were buying new sippies and I let him choice which kind he wanted.  He choose cars and trucks by the way.  Well yesterday for dessert I offered him a lollipop or cookies.  He thought for a second and choose the lollipop.  He happily ate half of the lollipop and then proceeded to give it back to me and asked for cookies.  That kid is smart but I am not one to give in so he was "stuck" with the lollipop and didn't get any cookies.  He is so funny sometimes.  He really thought that would work.

6.  He is the world's best dancer, it is been officially established.  Killer dance moves all around at the Lasher house.  Someday soon I will get his moves on video.

7.  Although he is still kinda weary of strangers he is now willing to say hi and bye to everyone he meets.  And it is in the sweetest voice ever.  With animals he gets right down in their face and says hi.  He also waves now by opening and closing his hand.  Super cute.

8.  I taught Brady quite a few signs around 1 year old.  It was very helpful for him to be able to communicate with us.  He doesn't do many signs at this point because he can talk a lot.  He still does the sign for thank you but recently I have been trying to get him to stop that and say the words because most of the time people don't see him do the sign and I want them to be able to hear it, mostly the ladies at the gym daycare.  He says "tank too" in his super sweet voice and looks so proud of himself when saying it.  Another funny signing thing is he still does the "more" sign but only when its for something super awesome.  Like yesterday I brought munchkins to visit the baby and he wanted more donuts so frantically did the sign more more more.  He will pretty much only do the sign for cookies, cake, ice cream, donuts, or anything else toddlers really shouldn't be eating much of.

9.  When Brady says "park" he says it with the thickest Boston accent I have ever heard.  He sounds like Boston Rob from Survivor, its hysterical.

10.  Today at the park he taught himself to go down the slide on his butt safely.  When he was way smaller Jim thought it would be great to teach him to go down head first.  it was funny at first, but that was the only way he would go down.  Today he first tried it by walking clear off the top of the slide, luckily it was a twisty slide so he didn't break his neck.  The next time he sat down and scooched right up to the end.  I was so proud of my big boy.

Enjoying the beautiful weather

We spent a ton of time outside this weekend to suck up every second of gorgeous weather.  Because this is New England after all, we could still get 2 more months of snow.  Fingers crossed we don't though.  Here are some pictures from today.

We got a cool bubble wand yesterday.  He was even able to get the bubbles going by waving it.  He was covered in bubble juice when we were done from all that flicking and waving.
