Big Boy Bed

Well after at least of a month of talking about it and hanging out reading on it, he made the official move to the big boy bed.  We talked it up all week on vacation and I got a library book to help ease the transition.  We did our regular old routine and packed up all his bedtime goodies: blankets, Buzz flashlight, hotwheels cars, pillow pet, and I am sure other stuff because its like a freaking circus in bed with this kid.  When I was kissing him and telling him how I love him and bla bla bla he kept saying "goodnight Mommy" as if to say "that's enough Mother, hit the road!"  Jim read to him, gave him a kiss, and walked out.  I then sat on the steps watching the monitor hysterically crying.  He cried for about 30 seconds and I cried for 30 minutes.  I want my baby back!!  Who is this kid who sleeps in a big boy bed?  He took a bit to fall asleep but he stayed in bed.  I was so nervous about this transition because if you know Brady, you know he rocks in the sleeping department so I was scared to mess with that.  But I am happy to report that as of night 1 he slept the whole night in the bed, with no tears, and waited for Jim to come in to get him in the morning.  That didn't stop be from checking the monitor 432 times during the night, which I NEVER do.  I am sure it will only be a matter of time before he realizes he can get out of bed and play, but until then I am not worrying about it.  Now if only today's nap will go as smoothly.

Here he is yesterday after his nap, his last time in the crib.  He is pretending to be asleep.

Vacation Day 5

Today we headed out to Provincetown for the carnival and parade.  We were there really early, walked and shopped, and ate lunch.  Then we realized we had 3 hours to kill before the parade started.  We went to the beach, but that only lasted so long.  We ended up realizing that if we tried to stay until the parade and then until enough time passed that they would open the street again for us to be able to leave the parking lot, we might have sold Brady to the lowest bidder.  He was in dire need of a nap and was not in a great mood to say the least so we high-tailed it out of there.  Maybe next year we will finally get to see the parade.  We left right before it started last year and that's because it was so freaking hot we thought our skin was melting.

Yep, that sweet ass is in a speedo.  Jim saw this guy earlier in the day actually walking through town wearing exactly what you see here plus shoes.  HOT!!

We were home for showers and went back out to Chatham to do some shopping.  Jim had the great idea to have a picnic dinner on the beach.  I love when he has good ideas, unfortunately this is probably the last good idea until at least 2012.  Haha, just kidding, sorta.

And then he bit my belly which ended in him in tears.  How can you stay mad at that face?

Vacation 2010 Day 2 & 3

Monday was day 2 of our Cape Cod vacation.  The weather wasn't too great for a beach day so we went to Hyannis to walk around a bit and shop.  While there Jim wanted to check out a JFK memorial.

And of course we checked out the nearby beach.

One of my favorite parts of our week at the cape last year was the concert on the beach so we made sure we didn't miss it this year.  The weather was pretty sketchy and we weren't sure the rain would stay away but luckily it did.  It was a reggae band that played songs we could recognize, which was good.

Someone was ready to head home for bed.

On Tuesday we headed to the beach again, even though the weather sucked.  We got sprinkled on a few times and I am pretty sure we never saw the sun, but that didn't stop us.  It was low tide when we got there so the boys walked out to the water, which is forever away from the chairs.  This beach is seriously awesome for the tides.  When its low tide you have so much land to walk and explore.  And even when its high tide its calm and shallow, perfect!!  And now that I have written this, I realize I didn't take a single picture the whole day.  Bummer.  Oh well, we went to dinner and got ice cream.  Pretty much a typical day in paradise.
