This afternoon we went to the beach for the first time this summer. Obviously last year he was too little to enjoy it, but this year he went crazy. I seriously imagined we would lug all our stuff there, set up, and he would freak out and hate it and we would have to leave. This was not the case, luckily. He played for a long while just sitting in the sand. I am pretty sure he just didn't know he could move around. And he didn't even try to eat the sand. After a while he was up and moving. The water was FREEZING but that didn't stop him. He sat and splashed, walked around, and got knocked down multiple times. But he still loved it! Thank goodness because my favorite place on earth is at the beach. Just to prepare you, there will be a million pictures in this post, there were too many good ones to choose from.
Let the fun begin!
"This sand is pretty cool."
"OOOhhhhhh sand is fun!"
Everytime one of us stood up he quickly went to sit in our chairs. Silly boy!
Playing in his daddy-made pool.
Apparently standing on the chair is really fun.
Burying his legs in the sand.
Jim dug a big hole and we plopped him in and quick covered him up. I thought he would totally freak out but instead he laughed and laughed. This picture was before we covered him up with sand.
This is after we covered him and he still loved it.
My beautiful boy!
He stood still so long that his feet kept getting stuck.
Weeeeeee..........
Rubbing sand all over Mommy. He had to do it to me because Jim refused to let sand touch him. He is such a nancy.
His foot was stuck in the sand.
Brrr..... his lips are blue here but he wouldn't get out.
"See ya Mom!"
And lastly, a video montage of his fun at the beach.
Today we went out to the coast for a tour of the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. It was a small bus tour with the rotary club. Which translates into a tour with a bunch of old people taking pictures and asking questions. All in all it was fun and informative. Brady's Pap and Uncle Tommy would have LOVED this tour. This is Brady and I in front of the submarine.
Sitting on the huge anchor and loving it!
Climbing up with Daddy. This was making all of the old people very nervous.
We go to storytime at the library on Wednesdays. They use a bubble machine which Brady loves! Here he is catching the bubbles.
Yesterday he was putting his sippy cup into his car trunk. So I filled it up with ice cubes for him to make a little cooler. He thought it was so cool. He kept sticking his hands in there and laughing.
I have always wanted to get Brady one of those cute Pottery Barn kid's chairs. Jim doesn't agree because Brady never sits still long enough in one place to get good use of it. So we borrowed our friend Madison's chair, hence the pink gingham chair in my living room. I am not sure if he will be getting one soon, it takes up a lot of space! He did use it more than Jim thought but far less sitting still than what I thought would happen. But it is super cute so if I get a coupon (which I do every so often) I will be picking him up one. Here are some pics of him trying it out. He thought he was so funny getting on and off 395 times today. It is up against the couch because before I could even get the camera he had flipped it over backwards.
Sitting nice the way you are supposed to.
This is how not to sit on the chair.
Then he used it as a step stool to get onto the couch.
Look at those legs!! I guess his jammies were tucked into his diaper. Oops.
Yesterday was 13 months already. I feel like his 1st birthday went on and on and now BAM he is 13 months. We were stuck inside most of the day because of the rain but we had fun. I decided to keep doing the chair pictures as long as he will let me. He was actually more cooperative this month than most in the recent past. He did get on and off the chair a bunch of times but he smiled and looked at the camera.
This was the first picture I took, I almost just stopped here because it was perfect.
Then the silliness began.
He was laying down pretending to be asleep.
Doesn't he look super tall here? He's not though.
Crazy black lips with that color setting on my camera.
Just a funny face.
He was just sitting on the potty and got down and took off.
Sweet cheeks kid! Brady loves looking at pictures so I put this one which is one of his favorites in a frame on the fridge. He goes there throughout the day to talk to me, Jim, Mimi, and Pap.
