Weekend at the Slatts

We are here in Jersey visiting the Slatts, Jenny and Ed. They have 2 ginormous dogs that of course Brady is in love with. Here he is helping Ed throw the balls to the dogs.

Jenny had a big bucket of awesome toys for Brady and this was a bubbles container. He really thought it was an ice cream cone and immediately starting licking it. I think that means we share too many ice cream cones.

Yesterday we went to the beach in the afternoon. The weather was pretty crappy but for the most part we enjoyed ourselves. Here he is putting the toy basket on his head. He couldn't figure out why he kept getting sand in his eyes, silly boy!

He sat here for a while playing with water bottles. We drug a bunch of toys all the way there and he was plenty happy playing with trash. Go figure!


Today we went to a petting zoo. Brady loves animals and of course thought this place rocked. Every pen said do not stick your fingers in the fence so we were slightly nervous. Here is Brady feeding the animals with Ed.

Bike rides and basketball

Tonight Brady went on his first bike ride. He seems to have enjoyed himself, as long as he was moving. Don't mind the fact that he was wearing a girls helmet, that's all we had as an option.


Afterwards he played with rocks, which seems to be his new favorite outside activity.

No, he wasn't allowed to drink the soda. I swear!

Mimi's Trip up North

Mimi has been here for her visit for the last few days. We have had an awesome time seeing the sights and hanging out. She bought him this super cute train conductor hat during our trip on Thursday to Portsmouth. It's just like a hat Uncle Tommy had as a little boy. I guess I didn't take any pictures while we were there but these were taken when we got home. He loved kicking around his new ball.

Then yesterday we went to Boston for lunch and to walk around the Science Museum. Brady is petting the black bear here. The sign said please be gentle with this exhibit. I am not sure what Brady was doing could be considered gentle.

He liked watching the balls speed down the ramps. He then met a very sweet Asian girl who loved him and insisted on hugging and kissing him. It was very cute!

Brady's Clubhouse

So we have this gigantic climber in the middle of our living room (which is totally Jim's fault, but anyway). Brady loves it and is all over it throughout the day. He has taken to going in there to poop which is funny and gross at the same time. Well today he was hanging out there in his diaper just cracking up. I still have no idea what was so funny but I thought I would take pics of it anyway. He is naked because we had just come inside from playing in the water table and pool.

He is looking at Zoe who just snuck into his clubhouse. She went in and lick him and ran back out.

So I was able to shop around and saved a bunch of money through ebay so he got his chair and he loves it! Since we had all those dogs here last week I didn't want it downstairs so I brought it down this evening. He spent a ton of time climbing on and off and on and off. I am glad I got it for him.



So finally another funny and pervy story about Brady. Today he and I went to lunch with some friends. When I got there I had to use the bathroom so in we went. He was good about not touching the floor while I was going which was great. So we come out of our stall and I am washing my hands while he stands next to me. I can see him out of the corner of my eye but then I reached for a paper towel and in that short time he went over to another stall where a woman had just gone in and layed down to look into the stall from underneath. I quick scooped him up and ran out hoping we didn't get arrested. We go out to the deck and are getting situated at our table and the girl comes out and is telling the story to her husband. I was mortified and am pretty sure she knew it was us. He was the only kid in the place. I mean who else goes to a golf course in the middle of the day for lunch? At least she was laughing while telling the story.

4th of July

We started off our 4th of July with a few games of Cornhole. Brady liked stealing the bean bags and dropping them in his water table. Not so fun for the adults.

Newport RI

We had visitors this weekend who requested a trip to Newport RI, so on Friday morning we packed up and headed down there. It is still my dream in life to live there because it is near the water and beautiful. It was a much different trip this year with a mobile baby who eats off of the children's menu and can chase dogs around. We had an awesome time! Here is Jim and Brady in front of a nice sailboat right out front of our restaurant. The restaurant was called 22 something or another and it was so freaking good. Brady even got an ice cream sundae with his meal.We found another huge anchor like last weekend.


I think he is giving the side eye to taking his picture where all the silly tourists were. In case you can't tell it is a wave with feet sticking out.

Everyone walking by was commenting on how cute he was and what a great picture so I am surprised I was even able to get this good picture of him actually looking at me. He is so nosey.

We got to do the Cliff Walk this year. Last year we waited too long in the day and it was then too chilly. It is this narrow walkway that goes along the water behind the Newport Mansions. This is at the 40 steps. I was kinda scared walking down basically into the ocean.

Funny Story

This post is just a funny story but no pictures. Sorry.

Yesterday Brady and I were at the mall. We went to play in the playplace that they have which is like an indoor play area. This is the first time we have been there since he has mastered walking. So in walks this 2 year old girl. She spots Brady and immediately starts squealing "baby, baby, baby" over and over again to Brady. Well that must have made Brady very comfortable with her because he walks up to her and starts hugging her and rubbing his head on hers. This is a kid who does not show affection. He does not hug us, kiss us, or even let us do it to him. The only person he is affectionate to is Zoe and she isn't even a person. He proceeded to hug and cuddle with this girl. At first the mom thought it was cute but after a while started getting uncomfortable. I kept picking him up and moving him to another area but each time he saw this girl he would toddle over to her and proceed to hug and cuddle. There were even cuddleing sound effects. After about 15 minutes of this I felt so bad because he would hug her so hard she couldn't walk away that I decided we needed to leave. He was pissed and screamed for everyone in the mall to hear. So apparently all we need to do is squeal at him and he will hug and cuddle with us. He is such a silly boy.
