Please Touch Museum

On Wednesday we snagged a free pass to the Please Touch Museum in the city.  Holy awesome-ness.  If I lived even an hour from this place I would have a membership there.  Coolest place on earth and Brady enjoyed it very much.  Here are like 9 million pictures of him touching and riding on everything.

Rita's and Hide and Seek

I freaking love Rita's and seriously miss it when I am in NH.  I vowed this week to go everyday.  So far I only missed Monday.  This is us on Tuesday sharing a giganto Misto.  Delicious!!  I think he likes it as much as I do.  He didn't want to give it back to me, he kept saying "my juice".

I came into the room last night and Brady was in this bag "hiding" with Mimi.  He thought he was so hysterical jumping out to scare me.

Philadelphia Zoo

On Monday, we headed to the zoo.  We had a funeral to go to in the morning, so we didn't get there until late in the afternoon.  Wow, it was the perfect time to go.  All the school kids were leaving when we got there and the weather was perfect, cool and sunny.  We practically had the place to ourselves.

Of course he had to stick his hands in that filthy ass water.

Yeah, this one went well.  I am pretty sure I have a picture on this hippo when I was about 4ish.  I am going to look for it when I get home.

One of our favorite book Goodnight Philadelphia talks about the "Zoo Balloon"  so of course we had to get a picture in front of it.

Franklin Park Zoo

Today we headed out to the zoo with our friends Natalie and Logan.  We hadn't been to this one before and were pleasantly surprised at how much better it was than our regular zoo.  It rained our entire way there and then cleared up when we got there.  We only had a couple sprinkles the whole time we were there.  Luckily, because we all know I hate precipitation.

 This truck was super cool.  It was actually in the tiger cage.  Obviously there was glass protecting them but super cool nonetheless.

Watching the train go by.  I do not look forward to when he will beg and throw himself on the ground to get his way.  He is happy to just sit and wave and stuff like that.

We wanted to get a picture of the boys together before we left.  The only way we could do this was promise ice cream.  Of course, we didn't mind having to get ice cream.  Instead of "cheese"  we had them say "ice cream".  Silly boys.

Scariest experience of my life

Last night we were playing outside with some neighbors.  The kids were roaming around while the adults talked in the street.  The kids ended up in one neighbor's yard.  He happens to have one of those homemade pond things.  I looked up as Brady falls in the pond.  I saw my life flash before my eyes but was frozen.  All I could do was yell out "he just fell in" and Jim and our neighbor Brad starting running.  Jim says the pond was way deeper than he expected and that Brady was able to get his face out of the water for air.  Brady was ok, thank god, he was just soaked and scared shitless.  I was in absolute shock and couldn't sleep last night playing the "what if" game.  I know it wasn't the last "scariest experience of my life" but I could do without any more for a while.  We came home, got washed up, and snuggled on the couch to watch Dora before bed.  God, I love this kid.

Life is so fucking short, and boy did this experience remind me of this. 

Weekend Pictures

Jim took Brady on his run on Saturday to try out a jogging stroller.  Brady apparently loved it and Jim didn't hate it, which says a lot for Jim.

Our neighbors had a Kentucky Derby party yesterday.  Here is Brady and Ryland, can you believe how big these 2 are now?

Today we spent a ton of time outside, mostly sweating our butts off.  Brady went through 2 outfits and was well on his way to needing a 3rd outfit.  I don't know what we are going to do this summer.  Can he play outside naked all day???

Apparently hours old water table water tastes great.  I know there were at least 3 sets of kid hands in there, various toys, and I saw a few bugs floating around in there.  I guess bugs are full of fiber, at least that's what the emaciated contestants on Survivor say.

The end of outfit #2.  I seriously can't believe this outfit still fits.  He got it over a year ago, maybe even for his first Christmas.  Its 12 months size.  He was soaked.
