We miss Mimi

My mom, Mimi, was here for the last few days and we had a super fun visit.  She taught Brady lots of cool stuff, new words, new animal sounds, and cute little songs.  I had lots of fun watching Brady love on her.  Its times like this I hate living so far from family.

On Thursday we went to the Science Center to see the dinosaurs.  FAILURE.  He cried hysterically, hence the lack of dino pictures.  I couldn't believe he didn't like them, I mean we read dinosaur books everyday and he loves playing with pretend dinosaurs and makes roaring sounds.  Here he is riding the chair up and down.  It was supposed to show gravity, but since Mimi was pulling him up and down I doubt he got that concept.

Tonight right before he got in the tub Zoe was chasing him around trying to sniff his butt.  Gross, I know, but come on, I have no filter.  Anyway, they were standing at the top of the steps to see where Jim went and I thought it was so cute so I quick grabbed my camera to take their pictures.  Ooooops.  See below for the oops.

When Tom was a newborn in the hospital he did this exact hand motion in his newborn pictures.  When he was a little boy he would say "Remember when I used to do this?" and demonstrate the hand motion.  We would love to laugh at him since he did it once.  Well Mom and I were laughing because Brady was sitting on her lap watching TV and he was doing this hand motion for a few minutes.  Here is it Tom..... remember when you used to do this?  Brady does it now.

A day with Brady isn't all fun and games.  I have mentioned this before.  Today we went to the gym like usual.  I took him swimming after I was done swimming.  Taking him swimming is quite the undertaking.  The part in the pool is fine and very fun.  But it the part after that sucks.  I have to shower us both without his naked body running out of the shower, dress up both before we freeze to death, and lug all of our crap in and out of the gym.  The bag alone weighs 859lbs.  So I thought I would reward us and treat him to lunch at the cafe at the gym.  I ordered our lunch and went to drop off our stuff at the car.  On the way there he fell (not unusual at all) except this time he bit through him lip causing a bloody mess.  So I am carrying a bloody toddler, two coats, two giant backpacks, and I am sweating.  I get him cleaned up and we sit down to lunch.  First 1/4 of the sandwich he chokes (again not unusual) but instead of just clearing it out he proceeded to projectile vomit everywhere.  And I mean everywhere.  I felt bad for the other family sitting near us because it wasn't a pretty sight and the smells, well just imagine.  Yuck.  I was about 1 more incident from joined the circus today.  On a cute and happy note, while watching Dora he kept saying "Ahhhh" when the animals came on.  He is such a sweet kid who just so happens to love Dora and animals.

21 Months Old

21 months old.  Yep.  He's getting old.  Now, when people ask how old he is, I just say almost 2.  Holy crap, that means my baby is growing up.   Boohoo!!










Dad is lucky, he snagged a smooch.

Wii and Waterpaints

This morning we set the Wii up so we could weigh ourselves.  Silly, I know.  We were hoping it had been so long since we did it last that we would find out we each lost 25 pounds.  Sadly, that was not the outcome.  In the meantime, Brady was all over the balance board so we made him a makeshift character (really we just made Pap really short and Brady's age since Pap already had a character and I doubt he will be here anytime soon needing it).  Brady did the Penguin Plunge game and giggled like a school girl the whole time.  He actually scored 30 points the first game and 29 the second.  We still aren't sure how the hell that happened.  Then he played the soccer ball game (obviously not the technical name) and someone scored points then too.  He thought he was hot stuff.









Snuggle for Bowey.  Poor Zoe, this kid is so in love with her she doesn't get 1 minute to rest alone.


Honestly, I don't blame her for up and leaving him.


He loves carrying these stools around.  Today while I was making his lunch he put it right there and climbed up.  I thought he would be fine to stand there and eat his lunch.  Yeah, I was wrong.  It didn't end well.  We won't be doing that again. 



Tonight we tried water color painting.  Of course he loved it.  We have done it at art class before but it was the first time doing it at home.  And of course Jim had to run and hide so he didn't have to twitch because Brady was making a "mess."  Jim is so anal retentive.

Our Valentine's Day

We woke up early to go out to breakfast in a cute little town about 30 minutes away.  When I say early you know full well I meant after 8 which is late for most people but early for me.  After a mediocre breakfast and quick walk around town we headed back towards home.  On the way we stopped to see some baby cows.  They were adorable and stinky.  Someone was slightly scared of them and wouldn't budge to get close to their cages.

Today was a nice day.  All of us enjoyed naps, some longer than others.  Don't be jealous but mine was 3 hours.  I don't get a chance to nap often but when I do I know how to do it right.  After naps and before dinner Brady got a chance to ride a horse.  Well really it was just me but still fun nonetheless.

Valentine's Package

Brady got a package in the mail from Grandma for Valentine's Day.  I let him open it right up and dig in.  There was a hotwheels of his that he left there and a cell phone.  He spent the next 20 minutes alternating items up to his ear as a phone "hello" over and over again.
