Many faces of Brady

Blueberries were on killer sale this week and we stocked up today at the grocery store.  My grocery store has personal scanning guns that you scan your items as you put them in the cart and then when you are finished shopping you just scan the gun at the register and pay, easy peasy and makes grocery shopping with a small friend manageable.  My small friend worked the scanning gun today.  "Yellow button, yellow button" is what he said over and over again as he scanned each item.  I have to say he was pretty good at the scanning and it kept him busy and made it nearly impossible to grab stuff I don't want and put it in the cart.  This happened last week with a hot wheel motorcycle he found stuffed under a shelf and then had to own NOW!!  A little old lady stopped us to tell us what a good little helper I had and she asked Brady if he was a good helper and he smiled and said yes.  Someone is a little full of himself.  Anyway, tonight for the first time since last summer Brady got to have blueberries.  He is usually so skeptical of new stuff so I didn't think he would be too interested.  He dove right into that bowl.  I can't wait to see tomorrow's diapers.  And I can't honestly call this 30 seconds of faces because it was probably closer to 2 minutes, but its still the same idea.  This kid cracks my shit up.

Painting blows

Well the never ending to-do has something else checked off...... painting Brady's new room.  It was a hideous yellow that I never liked, not even the day I painted it over 3 years ago.  Pictures of the new paint color to follow.  We have gotten so many things accomplished this week.  We officially combined closets after installing shoe racks yesterday.  Its going to take me some time to get used to sharing with my husband, I hate sharing.  Impulsively I also decided we should paint the hall bath since that's never been painted.  I must have been smoking crack, it wasn't quick or easy and my body is officially breaking.  I feel like termites are eating away at my spine and tomorrow I will wake up and my bottom half won't even be attached to my body.  And then on top of all the other crap we did this weekend I decided that at 8pm tonight Brady needed a buzz cut.  I really wanted to get it done while Jim is home and before we leave for Disney next Monday.  After we were done Brady jumped into his pool to wash the hair off.  Of course he was n.aked and happy to be that way.

He loves this pool even though its intended for little tiny people, even smaller than him.

He jumped up and fell out so this was him trying to jump back in.  Didn't go so well.  But at least there weren't tears.

Two examples of my husband working hard.  And this first one is a before picture of Brady's new room.  Notice the hideous yellow.  Ugh, glad to see that go.

Installing shoe racks in his, I mean OUR, closet.

And 2 leftovers from the other day that I thought were cute.  Brady ate orange slices for what seemed like an hour.

I need your help!!

So with the impending arrival of Thing 2, I am going to be starting a new blog.  I don't think its fair to be named after Brady only.  No, I am not crazy enough to maintain 2 blogs, but this new blog will be my only blog I update.  It will be a blog about whatever I feel like writing about, but mostly family stuff.  I also don't want my last name in the web address anymore.  So anyone want to help??  Send me your ideas/suggestions for the title of my new blog and I will love you forever.  It can be anything, the funnier/crazier the better.  Send ideas to laurenlasher@hotmail.com.

Happy 4th Anniversary to us

Well, it was an enjoyable anniversary for Brady and I.  We spent the day at the lake, or beach as Brady likes to call it, with Miles and Cara.  Jim forgot about our anniversary.  Try not to be too surprised that Jim forgot something.  I wasn't expecting anything exciting, so luckily I wasn't too disappointed. I told him next year better involve diamonds, that's all I'm saying.

Anyway, back to the lake trip.  The weather wasn't great, but it kept everyone else away so the boys had the run of the whole place.  They are lunatics too, so they didn't mind the cold water at all.  We couldn't keep them out, even when dressed in warm clothes and regular diapers.  Cara pointed out something very funny that I guess I just never noticed.  She said Brady is constantly narrating his day.  For example you might have heard this today:  "Brady, beach, foot stuck, sand face, beach swimming, fall down, Brady hungry, Brady eat sandwich, etc"  You may even hear all of that in one breath.  Such a funny observation because it is so true.  He also replays his day.  He repeats everything he narrated later on.  He did this today when we got in the car to go home, even though his eyes were closing and he was half asleep.

I was loving his mohawk!  Sunscreen makes a killer hair product.

He apparently wasn't thrilled.

He's a New Englang Gangster apparently.  Not sure what the hell he was doing here, but........

.......this was Miles' reaction to Brady's killer moves.  I love this face!  They are like an old married couple.  They are constantly yelling at each other and their is an insane amount of finger wagging at each other.  Where do they learn these things?

Water, water, and more water

This morning we headed out to the splashpad in Derry that we went to last summer.  It is supposed to open at 10AM so we hauled ass this morning to get there on time.  And we were, I know, I was shocked too.  And they didn't turn the damn water on until about 10:40.  At that point 38,723 people came and it was mobbed.  All it took was Brady getting run into once, and barely run into at that, and he was no longer interested.  Ugh.  Here is one picture I managed to get before he decided he hated it there.  Last week he ran around a splashpad in the freezing cold for over an hour and today.....nothing.  Oh well.  Oh and you can't tell, but he had a pancake in his hand.  Pretty sure he was the only kid bringing a pancake into the water.

And then this afternoon we went to sign up for our pool memberships.  It is sure to be the best $15 I spend all summer.  He loved it of course.  And there was a little friend from last summer that he was able to play with and copy her swimming.  He was already swimming all over and getting very comfortable in the water.  And the best part, I just sit on the side and make sure he doesn't drink too much.  I am so glad the pool is open for the season, we will go so much!!

Showing me his swimming.

Tonight a neighbor dropped off a few puzzles for Brady that her boys no longer use.  It only took him 2 seconds to find out there was a motorcycle piece and he was in love.
